An evening with Chris Abani, Pádraig Ó Tuama, and Michael Wiegers

Hosted by Anne & Geof Barker

Chris Abani—poet, novelist, playright, humanist, and more—is known as an international voice on humanitarianism, art, ethics, and shared political responsibility. Chris has published three books of poetry through Copper Canyon Press, the most recent titled Smoking the Bible.

Pádraig Ó Tuama—poet and theologian—is host of the podcast Poetry Unbound. According to Krista Tippett of On Being, Padraig “takes the reader’s hand and walks us lyrically through his own loss, confusion, despair, joys, and learning. With softness and firmness intertwined, he shows us how to do this with generosity toward ourselves and the others with whom we share life.”

These two dynamic poets will join Copper Canyon Press’s Executive Editor, Michael Wiegers, for an evening of poetry and conversation.
