SUMMARY:Kundiman Summer Session: Hybrid Poetry and Prose Experiments with Aimee Nezhukumatathil
DESCRIPTION:From the organizers: \nTHE EDGE OF THE SEA IS A STRANGE & BEAUTIFUL PLACE:\nHYBRID POETRY & PROSE EXPERIMENTS\nWITH AIMEE NEZHUKUMATATHIL \nBuilding upon Rachel Carson’s famous maritime observations\, this class will investigate and interrogate the “strange and beautiful place” of genre-blurring work—work that melds elements of creative nonfiction and poetry. The primary focus of this hybrid class will be generative. There will be plenty of time for in-class craft analysis\, discussion\, and writing prompts galore that will send students home with several solid drafts of new work. This class is ideal for writers at any level of experience looking for a vibrant shake-up to their writing practices. \nThis class will meet over Zoom on Saturday\, August 1st\, from 2:00 PM–5:00 PM ET. This class is open to all writers who are BIPOC and scholarships are available.
