Sam Taylor

Sam Taylor is the author of Body of the World, a finalist for Foreword Magazine’s Poetry Book of the Year, and he has a second collection coming out with Pitt Poetry Series, work from which has appeared in The New RepublicHudson ReviewAgniMichigan Quarterly Review, and Poetry Daily. He has received the Dobie Paisano Fellowship from the Texas Institute of Letters and the James Michener Fellowship from UT Austin, as well as fellowship residencies from the Corporation of Yaddo, The Vermont Studio Center, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.  For several years, he lived as a wilderness caretaker in the San Juan Mountains of Northern New Mexico, spending much of the Winters snowed-in without electricity, phone, or internet access.   He recently accepted a position to teach poetry in the MFA program at Wichita State University.
